The Gulf Coast Pain Institute and University Interventional Center (Ambulatory Surgical Center) specializes in interventional pain management treatments in a multi-disciplinary setting that includes Physical Therapy and Chiropractic services. We have 17 employed physicians and advanced practitioners on staff and over 100 support staff to service the patient populations extending into Alabama.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Nursing shall be appointed by the Board of Managers/Governing Board. The Manager shall coordinate activities with the Medical Director. The Manager shall be responsible for the day to day operations of the center. The Manager shall be responsible for assuring the Center’s Operations Manual is regularly revised and updated and are in compliance with all laws and regulations governing the Center. The Manager shall receive an annual review from the Administrator and findings from such shall be reported to the Governing Board. Director of Nursing will be responsible to evaluate and report findings including:
Infection Control Issues
Quality Assurance/Process Improvements Studies
Key Indicators for Improvement in Quality
Policy and Procedures
Inspections and Maintenance of Facility reported to Administrator
Act as the CQI Coordinator
Ensure compliance of programs of facility leaders under their leadership
Ensure compliance of self and others under their leadership in accordance to Operations Manual, AAAHC, AHCA, CMS and other federal/state agencies
Ability to function as staff RN as needed (see RN job description)
Assist in HR functions such as screening, hiring/terminating employees, conflict resolution
Perform staff competency reviews and annual performance reviews
Perform internal audits to ensure quality control/compliance is being met
Hold regular staff inservices(s) as required per the Operations Manual/State/Federal mandates
Ensure assigned job functions are being performed and inserviced to staff appropriately
Submit required reports to requesting party (Infection Control Coordinator, Safety Officer, etc) and ensure compliance of programs
Ensure documentation of compliance checks is monitored regularly and documented
Assist in inspections, ensure appropriate preparation occurs prior to set inspection dates
Perform mock inspections as needed
Ensure staff training program compliance in accordance to Operations Manual
Ensure medical supply/facility supply costs are evaluated for cost reductions per facility policy
Basic knowledge with computers (word, excel spreadsheets). Ability to create educational pieces for staff assistance and direction.
Hours are from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or variation based on facility needs; 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Director of Nursing or equal position with equal experience in ASC compliance or state/federal compliance.
Must hold Bachelor’s Degree in Business, finance or health care related and RN license.
Must be able to effectively communicate with diverse staff.
Must be able to work efficiently in busy environment.
Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Must encourage team building and positivity with focus on patient care.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds and assist with patient care as needed.
Must be able to pass level II background check and random urine drug screenings.
