The SouAtheast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG), is seeking a health research program director to lead the development and implementation of a research strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders and aligned with regional goals. This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to be involved in the development of a fully supported and groundbreaking program in a large and recognized dynamic healthcare system. The successful physician (MD/DO) candidate must be clinically active in and have current specialty board-certification. Advanced degree such as MPH, MBA, PhD and advanced training in research methods, statistics or other advanced health-related fields is preferred. Additionally, candidates must also have at least six years of research experience involving human subjects in such areas as health services research, translational research, program evaluation, epidemiology, preventive services, health policy, clinical trials and/or other related research areas. They should also have at least three years of previous experience in management and leadership positions(s) that include administration, budget oversight, human resources management, liaison activities, and strategic leadership, publications in peer-reviewed journals, including multiple first-authored papers. Knowledge of, or experience within managed care and health care settings and, more generally, a strong understanding of the business needs of a complex, multi-regional research organization is required. Successful candidates must also have the following: Reputation and acknowledgement as a productive scientist as evidenced by academic/research credentials, prior funding experience, scientific publications, awards and academic accomplishments Demonstrated ability to communicate with scientific, non-scientific and business professionals via a variety of media formats Broad knowledge of grants and contracts administration and the research regulatory environment Ability to work with business executives, medical staff, research professionals, government officials, policy makers and state and national legislators Proven ability to envision future directions for health and medical care and describe that vision to a broad audience Teaching, mentorship, and educational experience In addition to previous leadership/administrative experience, candidates should also have: Prior success in leading a multi-million-dollar Multi-site research organization Demonstrated experience and understanding of integrated healthcare delivery systems and principles of evidence-based care for populations Substantial experience and success leading multidisciplinary groups of scientists Proven ability to work with media to explain complex scientific and health information to the general public About The Southeast Permanente Medical Group: TSPMG is one of Georgia's largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups.
