The Project Manager (PM) role is an integral position within Optum IT. The PM functions as a project single point of contact to contribute organization, planning, analysis, communication, and project management. This is a Senior PM role under the Mergers and Acquisitions umbrella. Applicants must be able to operate independently in order to implement the vision of management while meeting the goals of business partners. This position will join the Program Architecture - Security Controls team. The PM will lead and be accountable for multiple initiatives in voice and data networking, to increase the capabilities and security of the Optum network. Teams will include internal and external engineering resources located locally and overseas. Project delivery will require working hours outside of a normal 9AM - 5PM to facilitate. The team will work in two week Agile sprints to deliver projects in an iterative and predictable timeframe. Primary Responsibilities:Track and update project plans and related technical documentation Support project management staff with various tasks such as change management, procurement, scheduling, process improvement, and meeting documentation Lead and document technical troubleshooting efforts at various levels of project implementation Work to be a single point of contact for all project IT vendors / providers as assigned Work with UHG IT Merger and Acquisition team to deploy enterprise networks and acquisition assimilation Drive deliverables to meet project deadlines / milestones Identify, track, and report issues and assist identify ways to mitigate in support of the plan Engage resources (management, service vendors, third parties, etc.) for project assignments Determine requirements through interface with customer and adherence to corporate standards Document status reports including project progress, key milestones, tasks accomplished, etc. Perform Optum IT's change management procedures to create, submit, and coordinate various change requests associated with Optum IT Network Services current and future projects
Required Qualifications:3+ years of professional experience with voice/data network technologies (e.g., LAN/WAN, network routing protocols, IPT, IVR) Professional experience with ownership and accountability for delivery of services to the business partner Possess the ability ensure timely delivery of project goals and milestones Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization Skilled with use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Familiar with building and tracking project plans Willing and able to work night and/or rotating shifts as requiredPreferred Qualifications:Previous UnitedHealth Group work experience Bachelor's Degree Experience or educational background with Agile method of delivery U.S. Military experience Security Clearance Potential 10% Travel - Willingness for short notice travel Technology Careers with Optum.
