Job Description Summary:
The purpose of the Associate Registrar for Electronic Process Development and Technology is to use professional experience and judgment to interpret academic policies, procedures, and programs as they pertain to the management of the Student Information System (SIS) by researching, testing, and documenting functionality of various modules of the SIS. This position is responsible for ensuring that mandated reporting for both state and federal government is up to date and on time, including the monitoring, interpreting, and applying changes of said reporting based on changes in regulation and our SIS software.This position serves to create and implement strategies that will increase efficiencies throughout the office and the university as whole, serving as a project manager for the Office of the Registrar's technology related processes. This position serves as the technical point of contact with various university offices, ensuring that offices are aware of university changes and practices. This position will also serve on various university committees and take a leadership role in order to represent the Office of the Registrar. This position will be responsible for the long term maintenance and replacement of technology within the office, including PC towers, laptops, monitors, tablets, etc., ensuring that technology is up to date and meets minimum UTS standards. This position will assist in troubleshooting basic computer issues and will give recommendations to changes in user end software. This position also supports the office with research, reporting, and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information systems, computer science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of full-time experience working in higher education. Three years of experience working directly with a Student Information System or any large Enterprise Resource System (ERP). Familiar with government regulations in higher education, including state and federal, for both mandated and on-going reporting. Demonstrated experience with relational database management systems (such as Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server). Experience should include reviewing/analyzing data structures and writing SQL queries. Experience with creating and implementing processes to streamline and/or automate workflows. Ability to supervise staff. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work closely with multiple offices with differing objectives to achieve university wide goals. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Master's Degree. Five years of full-time experience working in a Registrar’s Office or comparable office at an institution of higher education. Experience using the Ellucian Banner Student Information System. Three years of experience submitting reports to state and/or U.S. Department of Education.
