Gannon University’s School of Public Service and Global Affairs seeks a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor for the Masters in Public Administration who will serve as the Program Director. Requirements include an MPA and earned doctorate in Public Administration or closely related field with demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education. Experience in government or nonprofit sectors, either domestic or abroad, is highly desirable as is experience in community development and planning.
Qualified candidates will engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at Gannon. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester and administer the MPA program. Responsibilities will include leading the academic development of the program in collaboration with other departmental faculty and the School Director as well as manage the day-to-day program operations. Courses in the MPA program are offered during the summer, the Program Director is expected to be available regularly during the summer months to support those courses and there is a summer stipend. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
