The Child Protective Services Worker I class is the entry into the professional Child Protective Services Worker series and is designed to develop the professional skills of persons with a Master's in Social Work, but who have minimal social work experience. Employees at this level perform casework requiring a higher-level expertise and knowledge of social service techniques. There are currently several vacancies in the Child Welfare Services (CWS) Division of the Health and Human Services Agency; however, this list may be used to fill Child Protective Services Worker I vacancies for up to twelve months. It may be preferred that some vacancies are filled with candidates who are bilingual Spanish, based on the needs of the CWS division.
This recruitment is being conducted to fill one Extra-Help (variable hour, non-benefited) position in the Child Welfare Services Division (CWS) of the Health and Human Services Agency. This Extra-Help position will work approximately 10 to 15 hours a week. The Extra-Help Supervising Mental Health Counselor will provide clinical supervision to eligible Social Workers pursuing licensure. This position will provide clinical guidance and feedback regarding theoretical principals, practices and techniques related to clinical interventions – separate from the CWS' case management decisions.
