ADTRAN is seeking a seasoned compensation professional with the ability to work flexibly and creatively to establish and continually enhance the Compensation function. Ensure broad-based and executive compensation programs, practices, and policies comply with local, state and federal laws. Builds, improves and maintains compensation infrastructure; job codes, job families and job family descriptions. Develops and implements organization wide compensation communications and education. Designs, develops, implement and administers global compensation policies, processes, structure, guidelines and programs including short-term and long-term incentives for all levels of employees. Acts as a consultant with human resources business partners and clients on day-to-day compensation decision-making, project implementation and compensation program development. Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related issues. Develops and/or participates in global compensation surveys and market analysis to identify trends in total rewards and strategically determines the company's competitive position in a highly competitive market to enable recruiting, employee engagement and retention strategies. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop and implement a total rewards strategy (including base pay, incentive compensation, long term incentive plans) that is innovative, market competitive and designed to drive and reward employee performance
Partner with business leaders to proactively identify issues and recommend compensation solutions
Work closely with operational leaders and key stakeholders to ensure programs are aligned with overall strategies and needs
Balance a global Compensation strategy with differences among local country market practices and regulations in the environment of continually changing global economies
Prepares special studies and recommendations on subjects such as variable pay, performance management, employee development, etc.
Uses a logical and systematic approach to accurately analyze data, problems, and situations; specifically with regards to employee compensation programs including the organization of job classifications, global pay structures, etc.
Implement, analyze, and administer the executive compensation incentive and equity plans
Analyze, prepare, and review incentive plan calculations and presentations
Manage daily activities of stock administration (Long Term Incentive Plan and Employee Stock Purchase Plan)
Anticipate strategic compensation issues brought about through changes in stock price, labor market trends or new trends in Compensation
Perform analysis and detailed review of work product from Compensation Analysts
Ensure that the incentive and equity administration is in compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures
Responsible for the preparation and review of the Compensation Committee materials
Partner, where appropriate, with key external business consultants and service providers to achieve the best products and service, while appropriately balancing cost and budgets
Ensure through audits and reports that compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations
Sponsor the development of policies, procedures and guidelines that comply with the statutory framework of our global locations
Share functional expertise, industry insights and best practices with internal clients, peers, and others across the company as appropriate
Provide accurate, complete, and timely submission of required reports, forecasts, and various analyses
Responsible for conducting job analysis, competitive benchmarking and structuring new hire offers, promotions, adjustments, transfers, etc., manage corporate salary administration (base pay, bonus, equity) including program budget, rollout, communications, and reporting
Participate in executive compensation surveys
Implement process improvements
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
5 -7 years of compensation management experience in a global organization with leading edge human capital management.
A minimum of Five (5) years of previous experience in the design and implementation of compensation programs.
Previous international experience preferred.
Experience selecting vendors and implementing global technology systems.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
SPHR and CCP Certifications preferred
Must have executive compensation experience within a public traded company with strong knowledge of executive compensation programs & practices, as well as understanding of executive compensation laws and regulations.
Experience in preparation for Board of Director/Compensation Committee meeting material
Working knowledge of HRIS systems, report generation, etc.
Excellent skills in both mathematical and comparative analysis
Advanced skills in Excel (formulas, charting, etc.)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to generate and deliver presentations to leadership team
Ability to lead a team and also function as a working manager by completing routine compensation tasks and managing annual salary administration functions.
