The International Admissions Coordinator processes applications for graduate applicants with foreign credentials, including visa holders and permanent residents, processes the US government documents for the visa application, and promotes UWM through international recruitment initiatives. Responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of admissions requirements for UWM programs, managing technology and social media, and interacting with international students, faculty and staff. This position requires independent research and critical thinking skills in order to interpret and analyze a wide range of information. The individual in this position evaluates foreign credentials and determines comparability to US benchmarks of post-secondary education, provides faculty, academic programs, and students with an analysis of coursework, grade point averages and English language proficiency necessary for admission consideration, and participates in international recruitment and retention activities.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; experience working in an academic environment and/or university admission process; strong ability to create written communication that is informative and clear (as demonstrated in cover letter); computer skills using PC platform and databases
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with university student databases; experience with progressive responsibility in foreign credentials evaluation and admissions; knowledge of student visa regulations and issues; ability to use technology to enhance and improve efficiencies.
