Brookings Executive Education (BEE), a partnership of the Brookings Institution and Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) Olin School of Business, brings together two premier institutions to deliver on Robert S. Brookings’ desire to “teach the art of handling problems rather than simply impart accumulated knowledge” to those in and engaged with government.
Recruit veterans, active duty military, and DoD/IC civilians to the EMSL
Develop and implement strategies for veteran-focused recruiting and sales.
Follow-up with all leads via phone call and email campaign.
Counsel potential students about VA benefits and how to maximize
Meet with senior leaders within US Department of Defense (with emphasis on military services and Intelligence Community to acquaint them with BEE, identify internal marketing vehicles, and promote WUSTL/BEE.
Expand veterans/active duty military awareness of BEE programs and ensure BEE is vet-friendly.
Interact with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and WUSTL veterans administration personnel to ensure BEE is in compliance with the rules and regulations of both organizations.
Oversee annual re-accreditation by VA for EMSL, Certificate in Policy Strategy and Certificate in Public Leadership programs.
Develop deep familiarity with government programs that support veterans including the GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon program, VA Principles of Excellence, Military Tuition Assistance (TA) program.
Maintain WUSTL and BEE presence at major military installation education centers in the Washington metropolitan area.
Identify and attend education and career fairs at federal government agencies
Serve as BEE liaison with the federal government’s Interagency Veterans Affinity Group (IVAG).
Serve as a trusted adviser to BEE’s veteran population:
Advise students on VA benefit chapters and counsel on strategies to maximize entitlements.
Support prospective and current students on application processes both VA educational and other tuition assistance programs.
Assist in the documentation processes for the creation of WUSTL and VA educational student accounts.
Assist students with the development of their study plans and counsel on sequence of classes.
Meet with students (in person or by phone) a minimum of three times a year to detect problems, assess progress, and provide support.
Assist in the recruitment of additional students to the Army fellowship program (e.g., Army Command and General Staff College off-site students).
Provide counsel for potential Army “fellowship” program (i.e., the Army Strategic Broadening Seminar of 30 participants).
Connect with Service Schools for USAF and USN to explore interest in program comparable to the Army
Bachelor’s degree with four years of sales/marketing experience and prior service in U.S. armed forces.
Military retirees (05-06) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Three-five years business development experience, preferably in consulting and/or higher education or 3-5 years recruiting for military service
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
