Coquille Valley Hospital District (CVH), an independent rural health system located in the south coast region of Oregon, is seeking dynamic individual to lead our physician practices. CVH encompasses a critical access hospital with a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including a 7 provider multi-specialty provider based clinic. CVH is expecting significant growth in volume and services over the next 3 years and seeks a dynamic leader to lead our physician services into the future.
The successful candidate;
Provides leadership in the conception, planning, development, and implementation of the clinic business plan to the CEO and senior management team. Recommends, develops, and updates strategic long and short-range plans to support clinic philosophies and goals.
Oversees the business and financial affairs of the clinic and fiscal management including: development of capital and operating budgets, A/R management, internal controls and timely reporting. Projects future needs for service, space, equipment, material, revenue, and staff
Develops new business and marketing plans. Develops and presents proposals for new business endeavors. Projects future business needs for the clinic.
Provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Resolves problems related to staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Develops, implements, and reviews clinic operating policies and procedures in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and the requirement of outside regulatory agencies.
Ensures that the clinic operates in support of the mission, values, and philosophies of the organization.
Ensures clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Initiates changes as appropriate.
Ensures systems are in place to provide for the effective/efficient documentation of care.
Ensures that open, professional communication is maintained with providers and local hospital on a routine basis. Involves providers on issues that affect the clinic as appropriate.
Assists with provider recruitment. Maintains an understanding of provider contracts and compensation methodologies.
Establishes standards of quality, productivity, and performance. Ensures proper credentialing and licensures are maintained.
Directly supervises subordinate managers and line employees in the clinic.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include management and development of the operating budget, financial management, provider and hospital relations, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Develops and administers a staffing plan that will allow the clinic to operate in an efficient, cost effective manner.
Develops and implements clinic departmental policies and procedures.
Establishes standards of quality, productivity, and performance. Provides ongoing feedback to staff regarding status of these goals and provides direction in resolving variances.
Responsible for developing programs for the orientation, training, and the evaluation of employees working within the clinic.
Responsible for issues regarding selection, compensation, corrective action, and grievances.
Encourages both personal and professional development.
Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional clinic atmosphere.
Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest healthcare trends and developments. Attends such meetings as may be necessary to maintain operational knowledge of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years’ experience leading physician practices. BS/BA degree required, MS preferred.
