Responsibilities The Prime Client Service team has two main functions:
Acting as the main point of contact for hedge funds and providing solutions for Prime clients.
The active cultivation of existing accounts through revenue preservation and the increasing of balances held with Nomura Prime Brokerage.
Active introduction of clients to non-Prime products.
The Client Service team works directly with Origination Sales and Equity Financing on a daily basis to create strong bonds with the client base and to grow balances held with the firm. The Client Service team solves for issues that Equity Finance/Origination Sale/Multi Strat Sales do not have knowledge of and are therefore key to the success of an account.
The flow of business directed to the Prime Brokers and to the firm is often dictated by the facility in which the Client Service team resolves Hedge Fund client's queries and needs. The growth in revenues in Prime year over year is attributed to the deftness of the Client Service team.
Further to the above, the Prime Client Service team is directly responsible for all post execution queries from Hedge Fund clients which can span any number of topics. The breadth of the queries is extremely wide and can cover but not limited to issues such as new product access, market functionality, pricing, financing, margin, and reporting.
The Client Service team is in direct contact with the COO, Director of Operations, Operations and Portfolio Managers of the Hedge Funds that are on the platform.
At least 5 to 7 years' experience in Global Markets or Hedge Fund Industry
Client Service team members need to have a deep understanding of the Prime Platform, the global markets and a general understanding of the banking industry as a whole, sollid understanding of financial resource management
Attention to detail and accuracy is an essential requirement as there are a number of varied processes that are undertaken across the group, adaptability and flexibility are also key skills for this role
Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin is an added advantage
Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Ability to work to deadlines and good time management skills are required as the team have a number of production tasks set at specific times of the day and the deadlines must be adhered to and controls exercised as documented in procedures.
