And you'll do your life's best work.(sm) Summary of Job Function and Purpose: Perform radiological duties in compliance with X-Ray department and legal requirements. Help patients (claimants) feel comfortable during the entire process. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities. Medical Assisting is to provide service, Information, and assistance to claimants and physicians to ensure effective operation of MSLA clinics.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare claimants for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for claimant evaluation and safety, Prepare patients for examination and assist the doctor if requiredProtect claimants, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standardsDevelop and process radiological filmObtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, social security, and Veteran Affairs. Maintain a repeat rate of two percent or lessEnsure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulationsImmediately report any equipment issues or malfunctions to SupervisorLog all completed radiological procedure. Complete paperwork accurately and on timeKeep working areas clean and organized. Make sure rooms and cabinets are fully stocked with suppliesOther duties include but are not limited to front office and back office medical assisting duties such as: Taking patient histories and vitals, performing electrocardiogram tests, assisting the physician with spirometry tests, and performing lab workWork closely with the physician to receive guidance and instructions on any needed radiology studiesMaintain patient medical recordsPerform Dx testing, EKG's, PFT's, ABI/DopplersAssist physician(s) during examinationsCollect laboratory specimensTake patient vitalsTake inventoryDisinfect medical equipmentProvide customer servicePrepare patient charts Update patient charts, including missing medical recordsObtain authorization for ordered proceduresAnswer telephonesSubmit medical charts to MSLA corporate officeAll other duties assigned by Management
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of limited scope/basic/LMRT/NVT radiological courseCalifornia certificationCurrent BLS CPR & First Aid certificationPreferred Qualifications: CRT/AART Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited schoolAble to follow routine procedures consistently and efficientlyAble to work independently, and in conjunction with team members at all levels of the organizationAble to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
