The International Scholarship Specialist will design and train a global scholarship office in Saudi Arabia. The Specialist will be part of a core consulting team to carry out all deliverables, and offer first-hand knowledge on higher education scholarship including worldwide scholarship opportunities, Scholarship office structures and training. Reporting to the Head of Team and working in close collaboration with the consulting team, this position is full-time 18-month assignment with most work to be carried out in the US with some travel overseas. This position is contingent upon award.
Coordinate with IIE Project Team and frequently engage with client to improve exchange and transfer of subject matter knowledge, and build relationship with client.
Research and catalogue an exhaustive list of international scholarship opportunities designed for undergraduate and graduate students from Saudi Arabia, from funding sources beyond the Ministry’s scholarship offerings, building on initial research completed by the Ministry and its Cultural Attaches.
Develop recommendations to establish an International Scholarship Office which will offer the students of Saudi Arabia accurate, comprehensive, and current information about the international scholarship opportunities listed in the database available through SAFEER.
Design and deliver training for key personnel in the International Scholarship Office to build staff capacity to manage the online clearinghouse of scholarship opportunities, respond to student and parent inquiries, and guide students through the process of researching and applying for opportunities.
Monitor and evaluate the sustainability of the International Scholarship Office and provide recommendations to continually improve the quality of advising services offered by the office and through the online portal. After a six-month period of monitoring and evaluation, IIE will develop recommendations for ongoing professional development for key personnel, innovative tools and resources to reach the target audiences, and mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of the international scholarship catalogue, and advising services and operation
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
Requires at least five years of related work experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of higher education institutions, prestigious scholarship programs, and general operations.
Proven ability to deliver subject matter expertise on scholarship selection and higher education admission processes, including application systems, requirements, best practices and current trends.
Extensive experience liaising with university admission offices, academic departments, and related offices to secure admission decisions.
Preference for experience working with high level government agencies, and/or working as a consultant or subject-matter expert.
Ability to meet all agreed-upon deadlines for deliverables and deliverable reviews.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a global team.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, cross cultural and communication skills required. Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
Preference for experience working in the Gulf.
Preference for previous experience as a consultant.
