OBXtek Inc. of Vienna, Virginia seeks candidates for Program Director on its proposal for the USAID Global Health Technical Professionals (GHTP) project. GHTP is a five-year, Washington-based project focused on recruiting junior to mid-level public health professionals for deployment by USAID domestically and overseas, and transitioning 150 Phase I health professionals into the current project. We seek a senior health manager with extensive experience in personnel. The project will begin sometime between April and October 2018. It will be a full-time, on-site resident project in Washington, without the possibility for telecommuting.
The Program Director should be an upper-level management official with at least ten years in personnel and performance management; demonstrated management and supervision of staff; and experience in setting up management, administrative and financial systems. Duties are to set up and establish management, administrative and financial systems, as well as manage and supervise a small staff.
Specific requirements of the position are, a minimum of 10 years of experience in the health sector, with senior management or executive-level job history; prior responsibility for personnel management; and identifiable-on-the-resume skills and experience in performance management. In addition to the core elements, not required but desirable job history would include executive experience in a government public health organization in a personnel management capacity at the state, national, or international organization level; executive experience at a regional or national private health organization; or executive experience with an international consulting organization in public health. International work experience, experience working with USAID or other international donor agencies, substantial knowledge of global health, and experience with a Fellows program would be a plus.
