Job PurposeTowson University is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life to join a dynamic team of three individuals to advise Greek-letter student governing bodies, honorary societies, and other chapter leaders and members; advise, train and support sorority and inter-sorority leaders, members, and alumnae; and plan University/Fraternity and Sorority Life sponsored programs.
Advise the Panhellenic Association, the governing body for the 11 National Panhellenic Council (NPC) sororities on campus; attend weekly Panhellenic Association (PHA) meetings, executive board meetings and sub-committee meetings; attend programs and events sponsored by PHA, advise program planners, oversee and plan the formal Panhellenic recruitment process, and serve as the University liaison with Panhellenic sorority presidents and officers; meet with national representatives of PHA sorority chapters; work with and assist alumnae in the improvement of chapters; work to advance the Towson University Chapter Assessment Program including conducting meetings with each chapter president and chapter advisor to assess compliance with University standards; serve on Divisional Committees; assist in other advising duties as needed; provide leadership training for sorority leaders and officers, Panhellenic Association officers and cabinet members, and Greek community leaders, including teaching leadership seminars; and coordinate programming and training efforts including Hazing Prevention Week, New Member Education training, and major speakers.
Bachelor’s degree and one year of higher education experience required. Master’s degree preferred. The selected candidate must have knowledge of fraternal culture and community at a university/college; knowledge of digital formal recruitment for Panhellenic sororities on campus; and proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
