Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science
and engineering on behalf of national security. The Quantum Technologies Team in Physics Division is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our projects exploring atomtronic applications of Bose-Einstein condensates, including rotation sensing, signal processing, and the development of matter wave circuits [New J. Phys. 17, 092002 (2015)]. These experiments exploit our team’s “Painted Potential” capability for making arbitrary and dynamic potentials for ultracold atoms [New J. Phys. 11, 043030, (2009)].
Experience with experiments either in cold atom physics or in areas that have equipped the applicant to learn the relevant physics quickly.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in experimental atomic physics or in areas requiring similar experimental and technical skills.
Ph.D. in Physics or a relevant field of science within the past five years (or soon to be completed)
Knowledge of cold atom physics.
An excellent track record of publication and experience presenting at conferences.
