We are currently searching for an experienced Meat and Seafood Lead on our team District Market. The District Market is a neighborhood market with grocery, deli and grab-and-go sections that serve approximately 750 customers daily, making it a popular place for students, faculty and staff to find good food on-the-run. As the Meat and Seafood Lead, you would have responsibility for ensuring the meat and seafood display case is well stocked and attractively displayed along with other culinary support tasks. IF you have experience with meat and seafood in a grocery setting and experience in a high-volume kitchen, read on.
You need to be organized in your work and speedy in your cooking skills. Customer service is our top priority and should be yours too. You need to be able to work Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To qualify for the job, you must have at least one year of experience cooking in a high-volume production kitchen. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience with meat and seafood production and display in market settings. You will also need to obtain your Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of being hired, and you will need to renew it when necessary to keep it current in the future. Guess what? Membership in the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) Union is also a must.
