UWMC's Patient Nutrition department has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time temporary/hourly Food Service Worker. Under the direct supervision of the Food Service Supervisor, prepares and serves food items for patient meal service. Verify patient tray accuracy. Ensures food is handled safely and presented attractively. Maintains sanitation standards in work areas, actively contribute to team process, and maintain cooperative work environment and work to improve quality food and services provided to patients, staff and visitors.
This position will work in the tray assembly line for Patient Nutrition. Assemble the tray using the proper plating guidelines accurately and attractively. Manage and be able to meet tray assembly line schedule and deadlines. Restock area and refrigerators with supplies for next day operation. Communicate problems, concerns and work improvement suggestions to supervisor. Leave area neat and organized.
Requirements: Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit. Ability to read and correctly interpret Patient meal tickets. Ability to stand for 8 hours and to lift up to 30lbs.
DESIRED: Food Service Experience in Hospital or Retirement Center.
