As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll collaborate with an elite team of accounting and finance professionals who impact decisions that help millions live healthier lives.Positions in this job family have responsibility for financial accounting (statutory/GAAP Accounting), investment, cost accounting,accounts receivable/payable, etc. This family also includes all positions responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, audit, tax and treasury, health care economics, and any financial support of a business department, excluding billing, underwriting, actuarial, pricing and network pricing.Primary Responsibilities: Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirementsIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problemsSolves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysesWorks with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasksTranslates concepts into practiceProvides explanations and information to others on difficult issuesCoaches, provides feedback, and guides othersActs as a resource for others with less experienceDevelops and maintains financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to planKnows where to obtain all relevant data and uses financial reporting software to efficiently meet the reporting needs of managementUnderstands and incorporates industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisionsProduces clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message
Required Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent 1+ years of professional accounting experience.Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statementsAssesses and interprets customer needs and requirements. Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems. Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysesIntermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPointCareers with UnitedHealthcare.
