Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate-Intermediate/VP with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Liaise with the business and engineering teams to identify and mitigate any operational and regulatory risks associated with new electronic trading initiatives. Review trading software application logic and data models to ensure that the implementation aligns with the Firm's guidelines. Provide software risk control requirements for electronic trading business initiatives. Perform external vendor trading platform due diligence; review the risk controls and software development life cycle. Review risk alerts and production events and recommend process or risk control modifications. Keep track of industry events (such as FINRA, SEC new policy, procedures, inquiries and fines) and provide relevant recommendations. Assist internal departments to respond to regulatory and exchange inquiries. Provide compliance training for business and engineering teams.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role in electronic trading software development and risk management. Prior experience must include five (5) years: programming experience in C, C++, or Java; low latency software trading system development, including smart order routers and algorithmic trading engines; electronic trading systems risk management; utilizing understanding of software controls and implementations details for fixed income, equities and derivatives trading; utilizing understanding of capital market dynamics and micro-structure for financial products and experience in evaluating risks and pricing; experience with various exchange (such as CME, ICE, NASDAQ, or NYSE) rules, regulations, products and operational details; participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and applying Best Practices; utilizing Distributed software systems and applications, including bus architecture, pub-sub messaging, and Amazon Web Services (AWS); writing scripts in languages including Python or R; data analysis using Excel or SQL; working with front office traders and strategists to understand business requirements and translating them into software requirements.
