Social & Behavioral Sciences: Miami University Regionals (Middletown/Hamilton) is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychological Science to begin in August of 2018. Miami University Regionals are open admissions campuses with a liberal arts curriculum. We offer associate and bachelor’s degrees, in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science as well as beginning coursework for most four-year degrees at Miami’s Oxford campus. Primary responsibilities of the position entail teaching undergraduate courses on the Regional campuses and advising and mentoring undergraduate students. Opportunities may be available to provide campus, discipline, and/or community service. Teaching responsibilities will include our primary needs - introductory psychology, cognitive psychology, industrial/organizational psychology - and could include other courses such as personality, abnormal psychology, statistics/research methods, or opportunities in an area of specialization.
Require: Ph.D. in psychology (specialization open) by time of appointment.
Strong candidates will have demonstrated all or most of the following: experience and excellence in college teaching, especially in introductory psychology and/or industrial/organizational psychology; experience with or openness to teaching online courses; experience with non-traditional students; advising experience; and strong skills in interacting and collaborating with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the Miami community through their teaching and advising.
