Venable has an opening for a dynamic, customer service oriented professional to join our Information Technology department, based in our Baltimore, Maryland office. The Operations Analyst III will be primarily responsible for handling significant problem management tasks related to critical or major incidents impacting the proper functioning of the production server computing and network environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for... •Playing a key role in the transition of services and components, datacenter equipment and other devices into the production environment •Serving as primary contact for major incident escalation; providing support for and communicating problems to Tier 1 teams; maintaining communication with stakeholders throughout incident lifecycle and providing follow up communication or direction as needed •Administering firm event management systems implemented by technical services teams to ensure the functionality and reliability of production enterprise systems •Participating in the lifecycle management and administration of various IT resources and systems •Providing support to Systems Administration team for maintenance oversight related to Data Center technologies
The successful candidate will demonstrate... •A minimum of 5 years supporting Windows desktop/server operating systems and technologies including Windows, Active Directory, WINS, DNS, Exchange, and VMware •Strong knowledge of SQL server and other database technologies •Experience handling the administration and management of systems management tools •Advanced technical skills to serve as primary escalation point for problem management and service requests related to application, system, storage, operating system and other service related issues •The ability to assess and analyze complex problems •Knowledge of interoffice and intranet connectivity systems; understanding of switches, hubs and firewall connectivity •Thorough understanding of data center facilities with regards to power, fire protection/suppression, cooling, cabling and equipment racks •Experience gathering and interpreting performance and capacity statistics related to services, including underlying system and server components •Ability to maintain file system and share level permissions on file server directories, system/group policies for user groups, and data replication •Exposure to end point management, mobile device management and monitoring systems •Proficiency automating processes through scripting technologies; PowerShell experience is preferred •Strong client service orientation, follow up and follow through skills •Strong communications skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization •Ability to participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support
