As part of the Strategic Initiatives Department, the International Initiatives Manager will play a key role in implementing and administering RIMS' global strategy. This position builds global awareness with members and constituents to further RIMS’ role and brand as the leading global risk management professional association. This position will work collaboratively with RIMS staff to operationalize and execute international strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Global Development (DGD), the key responsibilities of the position include:
Assist with the creation and implementation of international membership and marketing campaigns.
Develop communications for chapter leaders to facilitate chapter membership development and management.
Source, produce and recommend content for event and education programs.
Reports on events and education programs, based on agreed performance metrics.
Work with the DGD and RIMS International Council to manage, build, source, develop and maintain relevant materials for the international center of risk knowledge on rims.org.
Develop and oversee content/translation for the international section of RIMS website, reflecting unique needs of members working outside North America.
Provide support for activities of RIMS Regional Advisory Groups (RAG) and prepares timely activity summary reports, including RAG recommendations, for RIMS management team.
In collaboration with IT, prepare timely reports such as ‘dashboards’ that includes specific metrics as determined by management.
In collaboration with the DGD, prepare annual budgets for RIMS’ global development and strategy execution; monitors expenditures against approved budgets on a monthly basis.
Develop technology-based programs and services in support of RIMS’ global growth in collaboration with IT and Education departments.
Assist DGD with PowerPoint presentations
Collaborate on major projects led by functional areas other than Global Development.
Bachelor degree required.
Minimum of 5 years’ international business experience (specifically in Asia Pacific and India).
Proven track record of effective networking and building relationships.
Proficient with Microsoft software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must demonstrate diplomacy, appreciation for diversity, and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate capability for data collection and research.
Effective project management skills and work prioritization.
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive, customer service attitude.
Written and spoken fluency (or capacity to be fluent) in Mandarin or another language preferred.
Prior experience in an association preferred.
This position may require up to 30 days domestic and international travel per year.
