Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary: $44,530 - $50,000
Perform casework service with parents, particularly parents of diverse backgrounds, to increase the parents' understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child's attendance issues, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available
Perform casework service with individual students, particularly those of diverse backgrounds, to support their social or emotional concerns related to their educational and social progress
Conduct a minimum of 3 Parent Cafes, for the purpose of creating a safe construct for parents to voice their concerns and solutions around school engagement
Is acquainted with human service agencies
Help families utilize services in the community
Take an active role in organizing parent meetings using team approach with other staff and with the support of the Community School Coordinator
Make parents aware of opportunities for parent participation in the school and community
Develop a supportive rapport with families
Foster growth and independence of families by enhancing feelings of self-worth and competence
Bachelor's degree in Social Work; Masters preferred
Two years' post-graduate experience preferred
