Under administrative direction, directs, coordinates and reviews the day-to-day management of the Chicago Risk Management Supervision/C4 Unit functions in the Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Institutions Section for the Division of Banking. Plans, coordinates and schedules examinations of banks and corporate fiduciaries. Serves as full line supervisor. Provides supervision and direction to subordinates and provides appropriate training. Implements and monitors examination procedures, standards and objectives designed to effectively monitor and regulate banks and corporate fiduciaries. Evaluates applications against safety and soundness criteria and makes a recommendation for preliminary approval or disapproval of applications for chartering new banks, converting national banks to state charters, reorganizations of failing banks, acquisitions of banks and their subsidiaries, mergers, consolidations, bank custody, and bank dissolutions. Travels to various sites for meetings and presentations with licensed institution officials.

Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience as a bank regulator or four years of progressively responsible experience as an executive officer or manager of a depository institution with complex responsibilities supervising multiple functions. Requires extensive knowledge of supervisory/managerial techniques. Requires thorough knowledge of examination procedures in banks. Requires thorough knowledge of rules, laws and regulations governing the banking industry. Prefers a minimum of five years as a bank regulator or five years of progressively responsible experience as an executive officer or manager of a depository institution with complex responsibilities supervising multiple functions. Requires the ability to travel.
