POLICY MANAGER, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab-North America (J-PAL NA) (2 openings), to contribute to the design and execution of J-PAL NA's policy outreach work. Will develop partnerships between policymakers, practitioners, and researchers working on randomized evaluations in North America; build and maintain strong relationships with key government, nonprofit, foundation, and private sector partners; provide technical and project management support to policymakers and practitioners through ongoing initiatives ; manage day-to-day work portfolio and overall professional development of senior policy associates and policy associates; assist with recruiting new group; provide feasibility assessments and initial analyses of policies and programs that might be well-suited for rigorous evaluations; conduct research and analysis for policy memos, grant proposals, and publications; create briefs, literatures reviews, other publications, and presentations to communicate research by J-PAL affiliated professors; organize and attend conferences/events; and contribute to developing strategy for long-term policy outreach and engagement.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: master's degree in economics, public policy, public administration, social sciences research, or a related field; coursework in quantitative methods and impact evaluation; four-plus years' relevant work experience that reflects the ability to develop relationships with senior policymakers and practitioners; detail-orientation; advanced writing skills for communicating policy lessons from technical academic research in ways that policymakers and practitioners understand; precise, clear public speaking skills; strategic thinking skills; and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, push forward multiple external stakeholders, meet deadlines, and effectively manage time and others. Direct supervisory experience preferred. Nuanced understanding of the constraints policymakers face in implementing evidence-based policy a plus. Job #15672
