PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Business Line Risk Analyst supports the Business Line Risk Officer in executing key risk programs within Enterprise Risk. This includes executing risk assessments, incident reporting, business unit risk reporting and other governance tools tailored to the business units for which this role will support. The incumbent collaborates with business managers, assurance managers, and other Business Line Risk Officers to identify, analyze and report key risk to meeting business strategic goals and objectives.
Specifically, the incumbent will have experience in Investments and Trading (Equity, Fixed Income, Asset Allocation and International Equity and Trading Groups).
Key focus of the Business Line Risk Analyst will be to help drive the following activities: Partners with BLRO to implement and execute effective risk management activities across multiple business units, including shifting priorities as directed to meet the varied needs of the various business units. These activities include: 1) monitoring business activities, market & industry changes and major business changes such as product development or process/technology change, 2) identifying and assessing internal/external emerging risks; 3) conducting various types of risk & control assessments, 4) monitoring & reporting of significant exposures and risks, and 5) oversight/resolution of events, issues & findings.
Collaborates with Risk and Assurance teams within audit, compliance and Internal Controls. At times acts on behalf of business line risk officer to align, prioritize and coordinate risk management activities with risk and assurance groups.
Using strong program management and risk management skills, the risk analyst implements and continuously monitors the integrated risk management program for designated business units that it supports. Overall framework being implemented will impact people, process and technologies within the business units as well as risk management processes across the organization. Business Line Risk Analyst will be the effective feedback loop to ensure the ERM program being implemented as intended and is meeting the spirt for which it was meant to achieve.
Partners with business line officer to define and implement risk management reporting, dashboards and analytics.
College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or
Associate degree and 4 years related work experience, or
High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience
3-5 years of experience in Financial Services or Consulting in Risk Management, Audit or comparable
Knowledge of global financial markets and financial services industry, including the global regulatory environment
Knowledge of operational risk management
Self-motivated and self-directed while possessing experience in successfully working with cross-functional teams
Ability to establish strong working relationships with and influence upward
Strong negotiation skills
Strong written and oral communications skills, with ability to frame issues
Strong analytical skills; ability to question / probe
Ability to objectively recommend well-reasoned courses of action
Ability to independently manage concurrent projects and set priorities
Ability to build consensus and lead groups to facilitate change
Ability to work independently
