Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Pharmacotherapy Spec.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for developing and maintaining a high-level practice. Works under minimal supervision to troubleshoot challenges related to the delivery of patient care, clinical program management, and staff supervision. Responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining clinical pharmacotherapy programs.

Develops and maintain a high-level clinical pharmacy practice. a. Provides direct clinical pharmacotherapy services by promoting the safe and effective use of anti-infectives. b. Collaborates with physician faculty of the NYU Division of Infectious Diseases and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, evidence-based antimicrobial treatment to improve patient outcomes. i. Participates in infectious diseases consult rounds. ii. Conducts daily antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) activities including 1. Prospective audit and feedback. 2. Restricted anti-infective approvals, antimicrobial recommendations, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic dosing and monitoring. 3. Identify opportunities to optimize antimicrobial use and patient care. 4. Report applicable ASP metrics including antimicrobial utilization and interventions. 5. Participate in anti-infective/ASP quality improvement projects in collaboration with pharmacy, the Division of Infectious Diseases, clinical microbiology, infection prevention and control, and quality.
Provides oversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve quality of care.
Contributes to professional development of staff, including Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacists.
Identifies and develops policies and procedures that optimize the pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and applicable regulations.
Evaluates and reports measures of patient encounter productivity and identifies methods to enhance efficiency of such encounters
Develops and implements clinical practice guidelines that will enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety of anti-infectives.
Clinical intervention, adverse drug reaction, and medication error documentation and reporting.
Hospital committee involvement: Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Subcommittee, Infection Prevention and Control committee, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Responsible for Pharmacy Resident precepting; Pharmacy student mentoring; and Scholarly activity.
Identifies and provides expertise for Medication Use Evaluations.
Maintains professional competency and certification.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy. New York State Pharmacist Licensure. PGYI pharmacy residency training. PGY2 pharmacy residency training in infectious diseases or equivalent salaried professorship at a school of pharmacy. Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty is required within 18 months of hire. Self-motivation, good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills..
