RN - Cath Lab Lead (Days) Full Time *$7,500 Sign On Bonus* Schedule -Full-time Job -RN Daily Schedule-Days Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period-80 Weekends Required-Occasional Primary Location -TEXAS-HOUSTON-ST LUKE VINTAGE **Position is eligible for a $7,500 Sign-On Bonus with a one (1) year commitment** The Vintage Hospital is specifically designed to offer a compassionate healing environment while providing its unique brand of care to the Northwest Houston community. Accountable on a daily basis for the oversight of the room staff's performance, coordination of the room's schedule, and communicating with the Cath Lab management team to insure efficient utilization of the department's resources. Personnel functioning in must also serve as a working team member/leader in the performance of procedures and therefore are required to have excellent technical skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Licensure Required:
BLS and ACLS is required
Three (3) years of related experience as a Cath Lab RN
Experience in facilitation that demonstrates flexibility and creativity in managing group dynamics
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able to maintain current ACLS and BCLS certifications
Excellent understanding of dosage calculations, drug actions, implications, precautions, and complications for all medications administered
Strong skills in starting IV's and administering medications
Good patient assessment skills
Able to interpret cardiac rhythms Accurately and promptly
Proficient at defibrillation/cardio version techniques
Strong management skills such as: strong interaction and time management skills, independent problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and fiscal management skills
Excellent patient assessment skills
Able to utilize the nursing process to provide high level of patient care
Able to recognize basic equipment malfunction and troubleshoot equipment in room
Exceptional technical and clinical skills
Exceptional knowledge of inventory/supplies utilized in the department
Exceptional scrub skills and knowledge when scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional procedures
Exceptional knowledge of cardiovascular diseases
Able to Accurately interpret data gathered during procedures
Able to positively communicate with patients, guests, physicians, and hospital staff members to provide high level of patient care while maximizing productive efficiency
Responsible for oversight of staff and activities in room and Coordinates staffing assignments within room to insure technical role assignments are responsive to each patient needs and reflective of the staff member abilities; Performs interviews, performance evaluations, and staff counseling; makes suggestions for staffing and procedural changes; collaborates with other departments in the hospital as needed.
Supervises assigned room by managing the employees and room schedule to maximize room productivity; Works in conjunction with schedule coordinator, managers, supervisors, and other room leaders to facilitate departmental productivity; verbalizes resources needed to management; Initiates actions to minimize case delays, reports schedule information promptly to schedule coordinator and other appropriate personnel.
Responsible for training and education of new employees; Participates in departmental educational programs by collaborating with staff educators to facilitate orientation and acclimation of new staff members; Provides educational opportunities and lectures for all staff members; identifies educational needs of staff as it pertains to job performance, and Initiates an action plan.
Initiates nursing interventions and physician orders, and records all patient data and interventions Accurately; Provides patient teaching based on the patient teaching plan; admits, discharges, or transports patients as required, insuring nurse to patient ratio is appropriate; completes diagrams and charges.
Notifies physician as patient condition warrants; Provides emotional support to patients; Provides patient teaching based on the patient teaching plan.
Records all pertinent procedural data and nursing care on case protocol.
Utilizes equipment in department with expertise and insures that equipment is utilized in accordance with safety guidelines.
Reports equipment malfunctions to Biomed promptly if unable to resolve.
Insures all staff complies with universal precautions, radiation safety practices, hospital policies, and OSHA standards; Oversees daily quality control processes per governing standards.
Assumes leadership position during emergencies.
Participates in departmental TQL plan and monitors care delivered in room to insure quality patient care is achieved and maintained.
