Our Armed Forces programme is designed to allow talented service leavers to gain the commercial experience to complement their existing skills, enabling them to build a long term career within the Schroders group.
Individuals are selected to join one of a number of business areas, dependant on their experience and the requirements of the business. All members of the programme will be given training and development opportunities in addition to interesting and varied work on a day to day basis.
Roles and Opportunities
The programme runs 6 month paid internships from May to November each year. The roles change each year, but you could work in one of a variety of areas including: Wealth Management, Group Change Technology, Distribution Operations and Corporate Services.
Currently all roles are in the UK, in our London offices.
Who we are looking for:
To be eligible for this programme you must have completed a minimum of 1 year regular service in the Armed Forces. We recognise and value the typical qualities of former service personnel;we are looking for bright individuals with an evidenced background of high achievement within the Armed Forces. Individuals are expected to be degree level educated, demonstrate leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills as well as an interest in asset management.
Essential skills and qualifications
At least one year of active military service
A keen interest in asset management industry
Minimum 3 'A' levels, or equivalent, at grade A - C or above; or
Degree qualified, or equivalent
Professional, organised, detail oriented and motivated
Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
Must be self-driven and deliver results based on agreed targets
High level of numeracy
Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
To have knowledge of IT development and delivery practices and approaches
To have a good understanding of project management lifecycle
