The HR Generalist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to partners, management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HR Generalist carries out professional responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and compliance with policies, procedures and state / federal employment laws. Primary Responsibilities:Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manualDevelops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations as neededAssist the HR Department with the implementation of strategic HR projects that align business objectives with employees and managementHandles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing as neededMaintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed / requiredActively involved in any employee relations matters that may include interviews with staff, disciplinary actions, suspensions, legal claims, grievances, etc. Generalist serves in an advisory capacity with management and the Employee Relations Manager in investigating situations and seeking resolutions. Generalist will coordinate any/all employee relations events with the Employee Relations ManagerAnalyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies. Recommends new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performedResponsible for answering HR Support telephone calls and emailsParticipates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminarsMaintains personnel records and documentation in employee personnel files including personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, performance reviews, health records, disciplinary reports and termination dates and reasons. This person is considered the custodian of the general personnel files. As custodian, ensures that personnel files meet Dept. of Health and JCAHO standardsManages data entry into HRIS system for new hires, transfers/promotions, terminations and employee updates. Generalist ensures that all employee changes in the HRIS are properly input and approved and forwarded to the corporate HR/Payroll office for final reviewCompiles data from HRIS and prepares reports. Reports may include updates on HIPAA training, leaves of absence, on-the-job injuries, turnover, attendance, etc.Utilizes employee personnel files to answer inquiries and provides employee related information to authorized individuals upon request. Inquiries may be from such agencies as the Texas Workforce Commission, mortgage companies, prospective employers of a previous employee, etc.Assists employees in the benefits enrollment process and makes contact with benefits vendors as necessary when any problems arise regarding benefits coverage issues. Generalist notifies Director of any problematic benefits related issues that need further analysis and involvement to resolveCompiles and maintains records for use in employee benefits administration. Generalist submits enrollment information to benefits vendors in a timely and accurate manner and assists employees with 401(k) loans, hardship withdrawals, rollovers and other plan related activities. Generalist also assists in annual 401(k) or other benefits related auditsCoordinates the processing of all full-time employee medical, personal or military leave requests including FMLA leaves in accordance with applicable leave policies. Coordinates the processing of all leave related paperwork and provides documentation to the HR DirectorPerforms other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree5 or more years of experience in a hospital HR setting with at least one year of healthcare recruitment experienceRegulatory experienceEmployee Relations Experience and able to address all levels of employee relations issuesA general understanding of FMLA, ADA, Benefits, and CompensationSolid data mining, analytical and reporting skills. Must be able to review and interpret data and make recommendations to senior-managementAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Careers with WellMed.
