Working with the Associate Vice Chancellor of Honors and International Studies (HIE), the director will support internationalization of the college, including international student support, internationalized curriculum, study abroad, and global partnerships. The director will also take a lead role on various recruitment initiatives and and serve as PDSO, or Principal Designated School Officer. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Serve as an authorized Designated School Official (DSO) for the F-1 visa program (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) database Develop and lead enrolment and recruitment initiatives Handle critical aspects of the cross-college operation, and various SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) processes to ensure that the international student services are appropriately supported Provide systemic support, including regular assessment and business planning, for a year-round office that works with students, faculty, staff, and dependents in Lone Star College Process F-1 applications Participate in SEVIS record maintenance, internal audits, and federally-mandated registration and reporting each term at LSC campuses as needed Work closely with external partners, both in-country recruiters and colleagues at other higher education institutions in the U.S. and abroad in order to be responsive to changing international markets, utilizing relevant recruitment and retention strategies Responsible for on-going data maintenance and integrity in SEVIS, PeopleSoft, and I-STAR Assist with ISAs procedures related to international faculty, visiting scholars, and staff Act as official liaison between ISAs and its respective constituencies to provide important information student status, academic, and campus engagement Work collaboratively with other departments such as student activity, ESOL, and programs, to help achieve our collective student experiences Responsible for student compliance with the LSC F-1 Student Health Insurance Requirement Plans required orientation for new F-1 students each semester Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree At least 7 years of related work experience; at least 3 years in a management or director-level position Experience in program administration of International Programs/Student Services more.
