For years, Bar-S Foods, A SIGMA Company has been recognized nationwide as the premier value brand for US consumers, and now offers more than 200 processed meat and dairy products including pre-packaged franks, bacon, lunchmeat, sausage, and frozen corn dogs. Since 2010, Bar-S has been the US operating division of Sigma Alimentos, Mexico’s leader in the production and distribution of refrigerated and frozen foods. Originally devoted to processed meats, in 1994, Sigma began diversifying into other product categories, including yogurt, cheese and ready-to-serve meals. Sigma’s hundreds of meat and dairy products are sold and distributed to deli, retail grocery, warehouse club, and other institutional customers under not only the Bar-S brand, but other familiar and successful brands such as FUD, LaChona, and San Rafael. Headquartered in Phoenix, Bar-S employs approximately 2500 people and operates production, manufacturing, and distribution centers throughout the US.
As part of the Bar-S compensation team, you will be responsible for administering compensation programs including preparing job descriptions, conducting position evaluations, and assisting in the annual bonus program administration. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Assists in the administration of the compensation programs, makes recommendations regarding salary structure, base pay, variable pay, and sales incentives.
Works with the Human Capital partners to edit, create or assist in creating new job descriptions or updating existing job descriptions.
Conducts job analysis for positions to ensure appropriate compensation levels are established and maintained.
Participates in compensation surveys to collect and provide continuous research and analysis of competitive compensation information.
Assists in conducting market analysis and budget preparation for salary adjustment programs.
Creates compensation reports and metrics and assists in the administration of annual processes including the salary planning/increase process and annual bonus cycles.
Consults with management and staff on interpretation of compensation policies and procedures.
Assists the Manager in ensuring company compliance with federal and state laws governing compensation practices.
Collaborates with the Manager to develop communication strategies for compensation.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related major or at least 4 years’ experience in compensation
Two years of experience in compensation including writing job descriptions, reviewing compensation data to provide recommendations on salary range, FLSA and ADA knowledge, and experience working on bonus programs
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and excellent analytical/ math skills
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
