<p>About the Job:<br />Department Chair of Family Medicine & Biobehavioral Health, with Professor Appointment<br />UMN Medical School, Duluth Campus<br />Appointment Terms:<br />12 month (1.0 FTE), annually renewable P&A appointment (standard for all leadership positions). Department Chair with Professor Appointment<br /><br />Duties/Responsibilities:<br />-Head of the department; provides academic and administrative leadership for faculty, staff, and students within the Department of Family Medicine & Biobehavioral Health on the Medical School, Duluth Campus.<br />-Serves on Council of Department Heads and reports to the Regional Campus Dean of the Medical School, Duluth Campus.<br />-Teaching, research, service responsibilities to the department and the school.<br />-Develop and teach courses<br />-Advise students regarding both specific coursework and broader academic or career goals<br />-Engage in research and publication, and/or artistic or scientific creation. Provide service through participation in governance of the department and/or the University<br />-Contribute to the development of the profession through participation in national and/or international associations, publications, and/or other related activities<br />-Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise<br />-Contribute to outreach activities that support the unit's mission<br />-M.D.'s and D.O.'s must participate in one day a week of clinical practice and enroll in University of Minnesota Physicians.</p><p> </p>
<p>Required Qualifications:<br />Master's degree required. Several years' teaching and research experience with a track record of significant achievement in both areas is required. Administrative experience is highly desirable.<br />Credentials for appointment to a senior faculty position in the Medical School are required.</p><p> </p>
