Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PD-Sr Emergency Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate The primary responsibilities of the Senior Emergency Managers include, but are not limited to: - Development of comprehensive all hazards Emergency Operations Plans along with related annexes covering all NYULMC facilities, personnel and operations. - Supporting efforts to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission's Emergency Management standard requirements in the six critical areas within the jospital (communication, resources and assets, safety and security, staff responsibilities, utilities management, and patient clinical and support activities). - Participating in developing and implementing an emergency management training and exercise program. - Serving in a key emergency management roles during incidents. emergencies and disasters of all types and scales both internal and external to NYULMC - Other duties as assigned
Participates in site evaluations of NYULMC facilities.
Helps to build and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders.
Holds a key emergency management positions during incidents of all types.
Supports operational readiness across all NYULMC components.
Recommends equipment related to Emergency Management and audits its maintenance.
Updates and maintains HICS model specific to NYULMC (NICS) as an emergency response structure designed to facilitate emergency response.
Supports annual update and review of hospitals Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA).
Maintains compliance with Joint Commission and CARF requirements.
Supports development of and participates in a wide variety of training and exercises.
Supports development of and implements NYULMCs Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
Supports an annual evaluation of the Emergency Operation Plan/Program.
Provides key inputs to policies and procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of NYULMCs values and incorporates these into the performance of duties.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a - Bachelors degree in emergency management, a health related field such as healthcare administration, occupational health and safety, or another appropriate discipline or equivalent experience. - Bachelors degree plus , a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in fields such as emergency or disaster management, public health, hospital administration, emergency services, and/or teaching. - Substantive experience in emergency management operations, including response operations and emergency operations center management. - Basic awareness of with Tthe Joint Commission, CARF and other regulatory agency requirements as they relate to emergency management. - Comprehensive understanding of the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System. - Excellent interpersonal skills; strong written, verbal and organizational skills. - Able to interact with personnel at various levels. - Ability to work under tight and changing deadlines. - Ability to understand and interpret data. - Capability and willingness to work in a crisis environment. - General technology proficiency
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline Certified Emergency Manager Prior experience in New York City working with or for New York City OEM, FDNY, NYPD, DOHMH, FEMA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Coast Guard or other agencies on emergency management preparedness and/or operations initiatives.
