Officer patrols all areas of their assigned location in all weather conditions. Patrols are conducted on foot or in a variety of vehicles. Patrol areas include hospitals, business occupancy areas, and other areas as assigned. Efficiently maintains a safe and secure environment. Officer provides assistance to visitors, patients, employees and others with general, security, and safety issues. Immediately responds to all emergency and disaster situations. Officer assists patient care staff as required. Officer follows broad instructions and operates within the guidelines of established System policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws in carrying out duties. Officer maintains a high code of ethics, moral conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism. Officer maintains a flexible schedule and is able to respond to any LMHS location. Officers are assigned a diverse set of additional duties as needed to complete a task or mission. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education High school or equivalent (GED) Experience Experience Have at least one year of experience in Law Enforcement, Security, Fire Fighter, EMT, Military, or another related field. Training On the Job License Must obtain a State of Florida Security Class "D" license within first 30 days of employment. Valid driver's license with good driving record required and must obtain a Valid FLORIDA driver's license within 30 days of employment. Must maintain a driving record within the guidelines of LMHS Policy. Other Basic computer skills such as, typing, using a drop down menu , and writing concise detailed reports with good spelling and grammar. Ability to use basic electronics such as a digital camera, closed circuit television equipment, Digital Video Recorders / DVDs, and multiple line telephones. (2/2013)
