Zonta International seeks an experienced association professional to join our Headquarters team in Oak Brook, Illinois, in the role of Membership Associate. This position offers a seasoned individual the unique opportunity to develop relationships around the world while supporting membership efforts for our member countries
Reporting to the Membership Department Manager, the primary focus for this position is on program tracking, dues processing functions and member engagement efforts. We are seeking a high-energy, detailed person who is passionate about data operations and member care.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Membership support and engagement
Build and maintain positive member relations through attentive detail in handling member requests and volunteer interaction.
Serve as the HQ staff liaison to assigned districts.
Communicate with clubs and districts regarding deadlines and missing information.
Charter new Z and Golden Z clubs – Zonta’s high school and college clubs.
Process club dues renewals, reinstatements and new member applications.
Update member, club and district records.
Respond to general inquires (calls, emails and faxes) regarding dues payments, refunds, invoices, roster requests, etc.
Support meeting logistics for the incoming Governor’s Orientation.
Collect and assemble documents for the International Board and committee meetings.
Upload Board meeting materials to BoardEffect.
Contribute to the successful execution of governance activities as requested by the Membership Manager and Executive Director.
Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management or applicable field preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in a nonprofit organization preferred.
Knowledge of Association Management Systems (AMS) – demonstrated knowledge of iMIS is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, GoToMeetings and Skype desired.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills working with internal teams and members.
Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Demonstrates inter-cultural experience and sensitivity.
Ability to work extended in-office hours during the membership renewal season (annual renewal date is 1 June).
