Schedule based on physician availability/needs and is available at least two months in advance.
A license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado or the ability to obtain one
A DEA or the ability to obtain one
Required ACLS and BLS Certification
Manage patients through the continuum of hospital care, consult on/admit patients in the emergency department, directly admit patients from local clinics and urgent cares as necessary, and provide patient care in the PCU and ICU
Provide consultative services for various physician teams in PCU, ICU, PACU, and Surgery Center
Work with clinical team comprised of registered nurses, care techs, case managers, dieticians, social workers, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists
Participate in the implementation of appropriate clinical protocols
Use available reports, medical records, and on site observation to review and improve the quality of care delivered by team members
Provide training to clinical care tech and registered nursing staff as needed
Ensure accuracy of provider coding and documentation
Assure medical involvement in the development, approval, and review of all policies, procedures, and protocols governing clinical care.
Collaborate with operations team to resolve patient care complaints and grievances
Attend Quarterly Medical Staff Meetings and daily patient care conference during scheduled shifts
