The University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) are recruiting a full-time Head of the Section of Cardiology based at our Seattle VA Medical Center. The Cardiology Section at the VA is a full service program with active Interventional and Cardiovascular Surgery programs and integrated VA-UW cardiovascular training programs. The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective leader with a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and research. An academic track record with evidence of publications and the ability to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities for collaboration in clinical, translational and health services research at the VA Puget Sound and the University of Washington is required.
Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent). U.S. Citizenship is required. They must also qualify for appointment to the full-time faculty at the University of Washington at the Associate Professor (0112) or Full Professor (0113) level commensurate with qualifications. These are 12-month, non-tenured, indefinite appointments. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Position will remain open until filled.
