The Director is the senior administrative leader over the Transportation & Parking department, and is responsible for providing access options for all employees, patients and visitors through the following functions:
Long-term planning of transportation and parking programs and facilities
Strategic project/portfolio management
Financial strategy management
Service contract negotiation and management
Leveraging relationships to act as a change agent with the City, TriMet, industry leaders, and OHSU executive leadership

The Director of Transportation & Parking is responsible for collaborating with leadership across the institution to develop and maintain a culture of service excellence and systems thinking.
Twelve years of progressive leadership experience in a management position in a service industry, including:
o High touch customer service functions,
o Strategic business operations and fiscal planning,
o Management of service contracts,
o Formal and extemporaneous presentations to executive audiences,
o Delivery of services with a unionized team environment,
o Data-driven business decisions,
o Service improvement project management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience and knowledge of working with diverse groups of people with conflicting and urgent needs.
Ability to use diplomacy and tact to build teams, negotiate tough agreements, and defuse high-tension situations.
Natural tendency to perceive the big picture and the flexibility to accommodate exceptions while remaining consistent with a strategic framework.
Demonstrated leadership skills for maintaining a cohesive, engaged, aligned and passionate management team.
Professional presentation and exceptional customer service skills, ability to exercise good judgment, ability to work independently and with minimal direction, critical thinking skills, ability to manage competing deadlines, ability to work effectively in a team environment, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
Use a variety of strategic frameworks and project management tools to manage a department-wide business strategy and performance monitoring program.
Passion for innovation and challenging industry norms to develop new best practices for transportation demand management and customer service.
Skills and ability to achieve high proficiency in industry specific operations and accounting programs, include best practices for cash handling.
Comprehensive experience and mastery in the use of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer.
Bachelors Degree in business, management, or related field, or a pertinent advanced degree such as a Masters of Business or Public Administration, or Transportation or Urban Planning.
Experience/familiarity with operations within a large institutional environment.
Experience managing relationships with local government agencies (ie. City Bureaus)
Experience with OHSU computer programs such as Oracle and T2.
Experience with environmental sustainability programs and ability to manage diverse teams in support of sustainability goals.
