The Missouri Institute of Mental Health (MIMH), University of Missouri-St. Louis has an opening for a part-time non-tenure track Research Professor.
Duties & Responsibilities
Candidate must be involved with a mental health research program of regional and national distinction.
Must have the ability to write grants to obtain extra-mural funding.
Candidate must secure funding from government agencies, foundations, industry and individuals in the areas of mental health research.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of grants obtained, including budgeting and allocation of resources. Assist and mentor staff.
Ph.D.in Psychology or related field.
A proven track record of an integrative, innovative and creative approach to research concerning mental health issues.
A history of sustained success securing independent research funding.
Effective leadership skills.
Strong project management experience including project prioritization and strategic development.
Expectations and Job Performance Measurement: It is expected that the Research Professor will perform the duties described above. Job performance will be measured by the quality of the work performed and timeliness of work completion. Annual reviews will be completed by the Director of MIMH.
Reporting Lines: The Research Professor will report directly to Dr. Rob Paul, Director of MIMH.
Terms of Employment: Part-time, twelve-month renewable contract.
Guidelines: The candidate will be expected to perform these duties in a professional manner and to abide by the Collected Rules and Regulations of the University Systems. This position is reviewed annually and is renewable contingent on the availability of funds and work performance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: No extraordinary physical demands; position requires ability to communicate with partners and funding agencies and write reports and articles for publication.
