International Students and Scholars Services with the Office of Global Affairs is seeking applications for an International Student Advisor.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide immigration advising and support services to international students in non-immigrant visa classification, including J-1 EV, at the university.
Provide guidance to relevant departments to the proper interpretation and adherence to a range of federal policies and procedures pertinent to specific non-immigrant visa classifications.
Serve in the official federally-authorized capacities of Designated School Official and Alternate Responsible Officer.
Pay Grade: 17
Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
One (1) year of experience in higher education international education required
Substantial knowledge of practical experience in US regulations governing non-immigrant student visa categories, such as F-1, J-1, and SEVIS operations strongly preferred
International student advising experience highly preferable
