Working with Executive Director and other key staff to establish, build and maintain key relationships within government, private and nonprofit sectors.
Collaborating with CA staff to create a cohesive integration of external programs within CA’s overall organizational plan and structure.

Collaborating with other organizations and staff engaged in community comprehensive planning citywide.
Providing project management to a range of programs ranging from real estate to social services. This may include but is not limited to the development of physical facilities and human services, and implementing recommendations resulting from planning efforts.
Generating organizational and community commitment to new priorities and projects.
Assisting South Chicago key partner organizations in the identification, coordination and securing of funding and other resources for local projects and initiatives.
Assessing existing programs operating within the organization’s neighborhood and identifying service deficiencies and opportunities.
Assessing the merits of exemplary programs in use elsewhere for adaptation to the organization’s community.
Supervising the staff within program structure.
Preparing reports, as required, for submission to funding partners.
Essential Responsibilities (Safe Passages):
Recruiting, screening, hiring, training, and maintaining a cadre of Community Watchers to provide student supervision along approved safety routes.
Recruiting, screening, hiring, training, and maintaining Key Personnel who will 1) supervise Program activities and Community Watchers, 2) ensure that Community Watchers are on time for school arrival and dismissal times, 3) be responsible for the accountability and documentation for the Program, 4) supervise and coordinate Community Watchers assigned to the community during the Safe Passage Program
Submit a weekly staffing report for any and all Community Watchers and Program Administrators.
Submit daily electronic Incident Reports, weekly Incident Logs, and monthly Service Evaluation Reports to the Board of Education.
Provide outreach to local school administrators in efforts of connecting organizational programs and wraparound services to students and/or parents.
Improvement in School Attendance
Decrease in before- and after-school behavior violations
Decrease in number of students who are victims of violent crime and
Increase student perception of safety traveling to and from school.
Essential Responsibilities (CeaseFire):
Hire and provide support to a UIC/CeaseFire Program Manager.
Promote the CeaseFire message of “No Shooting”) through the use and distribution of public education materials, hosting or participating in neighborhood events and other means.
Hire and provide support to current CeaseFire staff, to mediate and intervene with conflicts and provide other support to individuals who are involved or likely to become involved in shootings.
Provide general office and administrative support to Project staff
Develop and implement a strategy for obtaining information about shootings within 24 hours of their occurrences from the local police and will engage in continuous efforts to build a relationship with law enforcement that fosters the sharing of appropriate information in a timely manner.
Work with project staff to complete community specific short (and intermediate) term objectives for CeaseFire beats.
Submit program data, reports, and other information required by the Project to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.

Plans/projects are completed on schedule, within budget and in accord with desired outcomes.

Be able to show programs/services as having strong alignment to organizational mission and goals.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in a community development or related field is preferred. At least 5 years experience in a management position within a nonprofit, government or relevant corporate setting. A proven track record in designing and implementing social, housing, economic development and/or other related programs. Be a multi-tasker, self-starter with strong project and time-management skills. Be accurate and organized. Fundraising and grant writing experience. The demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams in diverse settings (groups and mindsets). A demonstrated entrepreneurial orientation with the ability to work cohesively within an organizational setting . Excellent writing and oral presentation skills. Strong Computer skills. Spanish speaking strongly preferred. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Candidates will also maintain:
Familiarity with the Collective Impact Model and its implementation
Familiarity with Community Based Participatory Research
Experience working with diverse populations and community stakeholders
Working knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (or ACEs)
