Position is responsible for claim review for proper coding documentation, assisting in review of medical charts to determine physician compliance with third-party payer regulations, and assisting with processing denied medical claims.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews high volume of medical charts for physician coding/billing compliance for government and third-party billing regulations. Ensures diagnosis alignment within all elements of the chart and drug orders.
Reviews coding/billing regulations with attending physicians/providers to educate on compliance regulations. Consults and advises providers regarding billing requirements to avoid back-end insurance denials.
Assists Supervisor and/or Manager with any insurance coding denial review, achieving timely coordination and guidance with providers to align consistent and complete documentation that supports our services to appeal insurance denials.
Assists/defines appropriate CPT codes and ICD-10 diagnosis for existing and new services.
Associates degree with 3-5 years’ experience in health-related field.
Strongly request professional certification in RHIA, RHIT, or CPC. Working knowledge of computers, medical records and chart review, interactive communication skills, compliance or claims review experience desirable.

The hiring range for this position is $53,206 - $67,849 annually.
