Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20 miles southeast of Philadelphia, with additional campuses in Camden and Stratford. The University comprises seven colleges and five schools: the William G. Rohrer College of Business; the Henry M. The College of Education is the oldest college on campus and serves approximately 3,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The College recently launched the Center for Access, Success, and Equity (CASE), a new PhD in Education program, and a recruitment and retention program for diverse male educators. The work of the College is underscored by its commitment to addressing issues of access, social justice, and equity.
? Enrollment Management and Curriculum: Monitors class scheduling, enrollments, and part-time faculty budget allocations. Oversees and coordinates the review process of all curricular elements including new degree and certificate proposals.
? College and University Committees: Represents the college on university committees and chairs the graduate coordinators committee.
? Student Issues: Reviews and processes all academic petitions and grievances.
? Liaison: Serves as liaison to Rowan Global Learning and Partnerships, the Office of Research, Center for Access, Success, and Equity (CASE), International Center, and Honors College.
? Compliance: In collaboration with department chairs, ensure college-wide policies and practices are being followed and evidence is collected, including monitoring progress of the College?s strategic action plan.
? External Constituents: Facilitating the active involvement of external Advisory Boards for all relevant programs.
? Other tasks identified by the Dean
? Ed.D or Ph.D from an accredited university or college in a field relevant to the College of Education. Successful candidates must demonstrate:
? Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
? A record of excellence in teaching, research, and service at the level of Associate or Full Professor
? A minimum of three years of successful leadership and supervisory experience.
? Dedication to the vision and mission of the College of Education
? Commitment to shared governance
? Understanding of curriculum processes
? Commitment to issues of diversity, access, social justice, and equity
