Under the supervision of the Site Investigators and The Study Nurse Practitioners, the project coordinator will develop, coordinate and administer the overall daily operation of the projects as specified by the funders, as detailed in the protocols, and as regulated by the Cook County IRB. Work with the team regarding scientific aspects of the projects; set up and administer electronic, and as necessary paper, data files, QA logs and report forms.
Develop, implement and update protocols and procedures governing the research projects.
Ensures regulatory compliance; works with the team to establish appropriate reviews
Able to establish community relationships for protocol communications.
Successfully recruit eligible participants into various protocols.
Screens, enrolls and provides informed consent to participants.
Performs rapid HIV antibody testing
Prepares progress reports and amendment documents for the IRB
Reports accomplishments for the scopes of the projects in the time and format specified.
Works with the Pis and Study NPs to set up and administer CRF, QA system; Establishes and maintains database.
Participates in all administrative and staff development meetings
Successful completion the Cook County Scientific Committee Human Subject Research Workbook and the Biohazard Shipping Certificate and Security Awareness Training
Performs other duties as assigned by the PI and Study NPs
Experience working in research environment preferred.
Experience working in an HIV medical/service environment preferred.
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Well-developed clinical, written and verbal communication skills; keen eye for detail
Computer expertise, especially Access, Excel and Word (spreadsheets, database applications, etc.)
