Fitch's European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities and Structured Credit. Fitch Ratings maintains surveillance on over 1,000 European structured finance transactions.
The successful candidate will be part of the Structured Finance Criteria and Model Management team, which oversees a large inventory of European Structured Finance and Covered Bond models.
The role encompasses:
Development, assessment, validation and analysis of rating and criteria models used in structured finance and covered bond rating analysis.
Developing and fostering strong discipline as regards to model management controls.
Writing and reviewing model management procedures and manuals.
Qualifications and experience:
The successful candidate will be highly numerate and analytical. Working knowledge of asset loss and cash flow models is essential.
A degree in quantitative disciplines is required - ideally with a Masters in Financial Engineering - and/or 2 years of equivalent experience.
Solid quantitative and modelling experience includes strong Excel and VBA background. Candidates with C++ and SAS experience are preferred.
Database programming skills, the ability to work with large amounts of data and previous exposure to credit rating analysis would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.
A central element of the position is communicating with members of the structured finance, covered bonds and other internal teams. Therefore candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
