Provide excellent written and verbal communications to promote the assigned organization within UT Dallas. Will create public relations & marketing opportunities in all communications areas: news media, web based communications, print materials, public speaking and presentations. Will focus on bringing positive attention to academic research as well as student, faculty and institutional achievement. Will work with other communications staff within the university and will keep branding and presentation of the assigned area consistent with institutional guidelines. Will work with central communications office and meet regularly to coordinate media relations and marketing efforts.
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English or marketing. Five to seven years of experience including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Preferably, either a bachelor's or master's degree in journalism and/or a science/engineering field, or equivalent experience. 7-10 years' experience of engineering or comparable science and technology writing in professional news reporting/writing or higher education setting; or science/engineering writing for the public at a government agency or professional science/engineering society. Experience writing accurate and compelling stories and news releases concerning science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Must be a good teammate.
