Budget Title: Resident Director (SL-2)
Brief Description of Duties:
Works with a team of 4-9 live-in staff members in an area of 1,000-1,600 residents;
Directly supervises 6-15 Resident Assistants;
May supervise a graduate-level Assistant Residential Coordinator;
Supports the development of activities emphasizing leadership and community development;
Promotes inclusion through role modeling, challenging others, and emphasizing respect;
Has the prospect for multiple professional development opportunities;
Serves as an officer for the campus conduct process;
Works closely with an area Collegiate Professor to enhance the out-of-classroom learning experience;
Has autonomy in running their building while working in a team atmosphere;
Regularly interacts with students during nights and weekends;
Serves on a departmental committee;
Serves as a resource to hall and area government;
Collaborates with maintenance staff to preserve and enhance the facilities;
Participates in evening and weekend duty throughout the academic year; and
Is directly supervised within the assigned area.
This position has an academic-year work commitment, requiring the staff member to live in the provided on-campus apartment; and comes with a salary of $33,076 and excellent benefits.
A Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related field and previous experience working in Residential Life are preferred. A Bachelor's degree, experience in Student Affairs and one year post-undergraduate experience is required. Other essential qualities include excellent administrative, communication, leadership and decision-making skills as well as the ability to be self-directed, while comfortable working within a team.
