The division Corporate Advisory, M&A is part of Belfius group's CFO line and is actively involved in the growth strategy of the Belfius group by working on various strategic and financial projects often related to the non-organic growth of the Belfius group. Corporate Advisory, M&A has a direct reporting line to Belfius' CFO and its Management Board. The division provides financial advice on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, buyouts and corporate development for the Belfius group, combining first-class execution expertise with an in-depth understanding of Belfius' business and sector and the challenges faced by Belfius' business lines.
In order to answer to our development strategy, we are looking for a Senior M&A Manager. You will play a central role in crafting Belfius' future, in particular with respect to Belfius group's strategic non-organic growth. You will have the lead in an important part of these M&A processes. Your main activities will include:
generating acquisition and partnership leads; conducting initial analysis, evaluating target companies for financial, operational and strategic fit and understanding and evaluating the impact of the potential transaction on Belfius' business strategy;
coordinating and executing due diligence processes, leading cross-functional teams consisting of members of various business units, finance, legal, tax, HR, IT, etc.;
execution of M&A transactions from A to Z, i.e. executing all aspects of acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships from inception through due diligence, valuation, negotiation, closing and integration;
conducting valuations and other financial analyses;
preparing and presenting documents to internal governance bodies (mainly Belfius Bank & Insurance Management Boards);
coordination of external advisors;
coordination of project team and active coaching of other M&A team members.
master's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field;
at least 10 years of related experience in corporate finance or business development, of which at least 5 years of M&A advisory;
affinity with financial markets and their products;
